Spatter problems with Aluminum Pulse MIG So the shop i work for has taken on a big aluminim project, however i am not the one welding it up this time. The guy who is is getting so much spatter that its taking waaaayyyy too long to clean it up before powdering and its killing our productivity.

How thin of material are you looking to weld? I have welded 19 gauge aluminum with my 350P in pulsed-spray mode no problem. That was also using 3/64 wire.

Aug 17, 2021 Hi folks, Im trying to TIG weld some 1/4 aluminum to 1/16. Im using a Yeswelder 250P at 100Hz and 30% cleaning, non-pulsed, with a 3/32 gray tungsten. The problem Im having is that just about when the heavier side starts to puddle, the arc will start sputtering and basically go out. Jan 03, 2015 The 350p Aluminum machines are quite a bit different internally and have no issues - again the only reason I didnt order was that I wanted an improved duty cycle for steel while laying down my cash. If steel wasnt so much of my work, the aluminum model would be my no-brainer. So, my order is in Ill have a 350p quite soon.

They said they were blown, but had been in storage long enough that nobody knew exactly what was wrong with them. I changed both to 240 VAC, single phase. Both welders come up and I can go thru the menu and logic, and they appear to respond correctly.
