29.03.2009 Instead of "regular" plastic tubing, would it be more efficient to use copper plumbing pipes for your watercooling system? Why it might work: - As far as I know, plumbing pipes can be bent pretty well. - Copper pipes = heat dissipation. Plastic = insulation. - These pipes are made for water anyway. Waterproof solutions to fit the pipes onto a G1/4 thread will probably exist or easily fixable.

03.08.2021 Answer (1 of 4): It Depends™. It depends on where the pipes run and how often they are used. It also depends on how much insulation you use. Standard pipe insulation is roughly 1/2″ thick and has an R value of approximately 3. While water is running, pipe insulation will have almost no effect ...

21.07.2017 No water cooling build is complete without custom sleeved and routed cables, extensions are for lame people ... Most of our problems working with the copper have actually been because of our pipe bender. Put simply, it's rubbish. It leaves a nasty scrape on the side of every pipe we try to bend, but we are pretty sure it's just because the tool is cheap. With a better one we're certain we can ...
Copper heat exchangers are important in solar thermal heating and cooling systems because of copper's high thermal conductivity, resistance to atmospheric and water corrosion, sealing and joining by soldering, and mechanical strength. Copper is used both in receivers and in primary circuits (pipes and heat exchangers for water tanks) of solar thermal water systems.

It has a 1/2in MPT (male pipe thread) outlet and a 1/2in FPT (female pipe thread) inlet. The compression fitting I am using will connect the tubing to the male outlet of the pump. First, we attach the fitting to the pump by screwing it on. I wrap all my connections with Teflon tape for precautionary reasons and I would advise for you to do the same. You can never be too careful.

30.03.2016 The aim of this thread is to determine the worth of water cooling heat pipes rather than a water block, a few month ago I had a "eureka moment" and "came up with" the possibility of using water to cool a heatsink after rushing into CAD software and hashing out a few designs I headed to forums bright eyed and bushy tailed to find this was by no means an original idea.

01.05.2014 An implementation of a cooling system with a loop heat pipe for thermal control of supercomputers is considered. For this purpose two copper–water loop heat pipes (LHPs) with an effective length of 400 mm and ID/OD diameters of the vapor lines of 3/4 and 4/5 mm correspondingly were designed and tested.
